I suggest reaching out to book your session at the beginning of your second trimester.

I recommend planning your session to take place anytime between week 25 and week 38. It really depends on if this is your first pregnancy and how much you are showing - as well as how comfortable you are feeling during your pregnancy.

For Maternity clients:
Please contact me at the beginning of your second trimester to get your date booked. Your session should take place between 28-35 weeks.

For Newborn clients:
Please contact me at the beginning of your second trimester to get your date booked. I always leave room in my schedule for newborns clients since the exact date of your session may vary depending on your baby’s arrival. We will adjust your date if your baby arrives early or little later.

Newborn sessions ideally take place within the first two weeks of your baby’s arrival, but can happen a little later depending on your preference.

All clients receive guidance on what to wear and how to prep for your session and Maternity and Newborn clients also receive access to my wardrobe (just for the ladies).

You will also receive a pricelist of the Collections and products that I offer as well as reminders about your session date, what to bring, and detailed directions if we’re meeting at an outdoor location for your session.

Every client also receives a style guide tailored to their session in their welcome email after booking.

I've been a professional photographer since 2009. I'm also the mother to two girls under the age of ten. There is no situation that I haven’t encountered before.

My experience with newborns, toddlers, and kids means that I can work quickly and efficiently while keeping it fun.

I believe that photo sessions should be a joyful time for family bonding, not a chore.

And I am confident in my ability to make that happen. I promise!

My photo sessions are designed to be easy. My entire workflow has been designed with you and your busy life in mind. Galleries will be available for viewing within two weeks of your session date.

Any digital downloads that are part of your Session Fee or Collection will be available through your gallery. Galleries stay live for 30 days.

I describe my style of shooting as a mix between classic and lifestyle - I pose my clients for certain shots and then get those in-between, candid lifestyle-type shots when you are interacting with your loved ones. I help you with posing whenever needed (where to stand, placement of hands, angle adjustments for your head/shoulders). I will give you directions whenever needed. For babies, my style is to leave a portion of my session for swaddled shots and any shots where you might want to have your baby in a specific outfit. For baby details (eyelashes, fingers, toes, lips), your baby can wear a diaper (with a diaper cover).

My editing style is light and airy with skin softening and saturation adjustment applied as needed.

I am happy to photograph you at whatever level of undress that you are comfortable with. I always shoot nude shots in a very tasteful manner and you will have full privacy when working in my studio space.

All clients sign a portrait agreement and while Lily Red Studio retains the copyright to all images, I do respect a client’s request in certain cases to allow them to keep some/all images private - particularly as this relates to boudoir-style maternity sessions or if privacy is necessary due to a client’s type of employment.

Most of my style and editing approach is based on full-color portraits. Occasionally, I do throw a black-and-white portrait into the mix when an image calls for it.
